Fleet Checks As Low As $50/ea
Service for 2012 & Older Engines If your heavy-duty vehicle has a 2012 or older engine, it requires a traditional smoke opacity test (often called a "snap test"). We bring a calibrated smoke meter to your location to perform this inspection.
The Snap-Acceleration Test: We follow the strict SAE J1667 procedure required by California law. This involves:
Visual Inspection: Checking for tampering, missing emissions components, or obvious smoke leaks.
The Smoke Test: Measuring the density of the exhaust smoke while the engine is snapped to high idle.
Vehicles We Test:
Commercial Diesel Trucks (14,000+ GVWR)
Older Diesel RVs and Motorhomes
Agricultural & Farm Trucks (Subject to specific rules)
How to Prepare: Please ensure your truck is fully warmed up before we arrive. A cold engine is more likely to fail a smoke test!
